5th generation 2000 VFR800Fi. Rather than being a direct development of the previous, carbureted VFR750F engine, the VFR800 engine was a detuned and longer-stroke power plant based on the fuel-injected engine designed for the RC45 of 1994. Fifth Gen VFR is the right bike for me. Faults: Regulator rectifier connector melted at 67,000 miles. Stator replaced at 68,139 miles. Sold the bike to purchase a low-mile 2000 model year bike. By now these bikes are pushing 16 years old, and can be had for well under $3000 US. I consider them to be an excellent value, bang for the buck.
Honda VFR 800 FI to motocykl niezawodny, wygodny jak turystyk i szybki jak ścigacz. Chociaż jest nieco przysadzisty, czujemy się jak na dużej wersji CBR-ki. Waga robi swoje, to prawie 230kg, ale 110 km ciągnie dobrze. Przebiegi powyżej 150 tysięcy nie są mu groźne.
